Links For Europe- Everything you need to know
We can’t guess what you want to do, see, eat, where you want to sleep etc. So give us some information.
Don’t ask us to find your flights, hostels and such. Do some homework at first and then ask questions.
Budget-wise, we can only help so much, because in the end it’s mostly an estimate. Things like hostels, student cards, and travelling off-season will all help lower costs, but here are some estimates. Of course, people will spend more or less, but these are just averages.
London: 50-80 USD/day at the LEAST. London is a great city, but very expensive.
The rest of the UK: 50 USD/day possibly slightly less in Scotland and certain parts of England are less, but overall the UK is expensive, and 50 USD may be cutting it close at times, especially with the exchange rate.
Western Europe (Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Portugal, and Austria): 40-60 USD/day.
Again, the cities will cost more than the more out of the way areas. Hiking in most of those countries will lower costs, and let you see the scenery.
Spain, Portugal and Italy are slightly less, especially with transportation.
Scandinavia (Greenland, Faroe Islands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland): 50-70 USD/day. There is really no way around this, Scandinavia is expensive. Don’t drink and you’ll do better.
Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltics (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Macedonia, Greece, Albania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro, Cyprus, and Moldova): 20-40 USD/day.
Again, this varies widely as Estonia and such are a little more than Croatia, Hungary, etc.
Since it seems as though most people on here are from the USA, this site, www.state.gov has all the information on visas, passports and what is needed to visit any country.
