· Book ahead with budget airlines and hotel
· From Schiphol (the main passenger airport), you should get the train, at the Schiphol Rail Link, headed into the city.
· Upon arriving in the city, there are available taxis that could bring you to your hotel
· The telephone area code is +20
· The language is Dutch, but most people in Amsterdam speak English; many also speak French and German
· Keep a safe student travel and don’t lose your passport and identification cards
· Although Amsterdam is one of the safest cities in Europe, you still have to be extra careful especially when you are in tourist-packed areas (like in the Red-light District).
