Party Hardy in Oslo
The nightlife in the city centre is very good, but expect to pay about NOK 60 for a pint at any popular bar or club. A glass of wine will run you about the same, but there are areas with more reasonable prices. Norwegian students usually join for what they call “vorspiel” (German) which is a pre-party, for more than one reason – alcohol is expensive (cheaper in the supermarkets) and people don’t arrive early at bars/clubs.
Things you should know if you want to party in Oslo (Norway):
•You can only buy beer in supermarkets, for liquor you have to go to “Vinmonopolet” a liquor store monopoly run by the Norwegian government.
•Don’t drink in public areas, it’ll cost you!
•Grünerløkka is great for pubs
•Aker Brygge is awesome in the summer
•Solli/Frogner is good all year around
