Know Before You Go: The Almalfi Coast
July 8th, 2008 • Related • Filed Under

The Almalfi Coast is one of the most beautiful places in Italy. Make sure you check out these quick tips before going that may save you a lot of frustration.
- Hostels are hard to find. Mostly along the Almalfi Coast there’s a lot of upscale hotels but it’s hard to find a cheap hostel. Your best bet is to stay in Naples where it’s a lot cheaper and then take the trains or ferries to anywhere you want to go on the Almalfi Coast.
- WEATHER!!!! Make sure you check the weather because a little rain or wind can ruin your trip. The ferries all shut down if the water is too rough meaning you won’t be able to get to Capri or Ischia. Also, even if you do get to Capri, getting into the grottos, especially the blue grotto, won’t happen unless the water is perfectly calm. Furthermore, you can’t climb the volcano Mount Vesuvius if it’s raining.
