If you are going to Amsterdam or thinking about going, get ready to go all out and do things you’ve never experienced before. The people there are among the most liberal in the world and mostly have the mindset that anything goes. Aside from the fact that college students all head to Amsterdam to smoke marijuana or hash legally in its many cafes and coffee shops, there are tons of other things to do as well.

Check out Madame Tussauds wax museum located in the famous Dam Square, or take a relaxing canal ride or cruise through the many canals Amsterdam has to offer. You can also take in a little art and culture at the Rijksmuseum, which has 17th century Dutch masterpieces and paintings by well-known artists such as Rembrant.

The Anne Frankhuis is absolutely a site worth seeing; showcasing the actual rooms Anne wrote her well-known diary in. If you don’t end up doing any of this, definitely go on a free walking tour around the city to take it all in.

Either that, or go on a pub crawl through the many bars, drink an Amstel, and meet some really chill Amsterdamians. If that doesn’t spike your interest, there’s always the red light district where at night you can walk down the alleyways and see half-naked women, offering their bodies for a price.
