Airports are advertising a new 3-1-1 system in some lame attempt to appeal to flyers. The 3-1-1 stands for any bottles must be 3 ounces or less in 1-quart size bag and 1 per carry on bag. Even creams, lip-glosses, and aerosols count towards this, so be careful. Also there is no allowance for knives (duh). A really useful website is TSA.gov. It has all the up to date information on regulations for luggage and flying.
