The September Matchmaking Festival in Ireland

In Lisdoonvarna, Ireland, every September, a huge month-long Matchmaking Festival has been held since the 19th century. Back in those days, it was fairly rare for members of the opposite sex to meet, hang out, or flirt, because there were not really any places to do it that were accepted by society.
